Flickr Gets Geocoding (kinda...)!!!!
After my post a while back about the lack of mapping ability in Flickr and other tools like Blogger (see here) it looks like Flickr has a quite upgrade in the works.
I was just checking our photos and noticed in the tool bar at the top of the photo page a link to "Map". I tried it but unfortunatly it didn't work. Though this looks promising.
I am hoping that when they release this it works as easily and efficiently as this amazing bookmarklet.
I still have ideas on how to take the geocoding concept and apply it to any web content from blogs, wikipedia, photos, youtube etc... It will be interesting to see what comes from this upgrade...

This is definitely some cool stuff. I actually got to play with it for a few moments before it disappeared. I hope that they're close with the functionality...that's one of the big things that they've been missing and we could have a lot of fun with it.
